RDIF to supply 220 mln doses of Sputnik V vaccine to UNICEF
MOSCOW, May 27 (PRIME) -- The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has signed an agreement with UNICEF to supply 220 million doses of the Sputnik V anti-coronavirus vaccine after the deal is approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), the fund said in a statement on Thursday.
“The RDIF and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) are announcing a contract on supplies of 220 million doses of the Sputnik V anti-coronavirus vaccine,” the fund said.
“The deliveries to the UNICEF will be possible after including the vaccine in the WHO-recommended Emergency Use Listing. The RDIF applied for the inclusion in October 2020. The WHO’s decision is to be made soon,” fund said.
The RDIF will also negotiate with the Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunization on inclusion of the Sputnik V vaccine in the anti-coronavirus vaccine portfolio COVAX. A relevant application was submitted in March.
